_Manndakini Universal Studio presents a soulful musical interpretation of the timeless devotional hymn, with Manndakini Bora lending her voice to the powerful verses and Javed Hussain composing the music_
In an industry increasingly driven by contemporary sounds and commercial formats, very few artistes choose to explore the depth and grandeur of India’s traditional devotional music. Taking on one such revered composition, singer Manndakini Bora, under Manndakini Universal Studio, presents Aigiri Nandini, a powerful musical rendition of the iconic hymn dedicated to Goddess Durga, with music composed by celebrated singer-composer Javed Hussain.
Aigiri Nandini is among the most recognisable devotional compositions celebrating the power, strength and divine feminine energy of Goddess Durga. While the hymn continues to resonate deeply across generations, presenting it as a professionally produced musical piece demands both vocal command and a deep understanding of its spiritual and cultural essence. It is a space that not many contemporary artistes choose to venture into, making Manndakini Bora’s decision to take on the composition particularly significant.
For Manndakini, Aigiri Nandini is not merely another musical release but an attempt to connect the timeless power of Indian devotional music with today’s listeners. Her rendition seeks to retain the spiritual gravitas of the original while giving it a fresh musical treatment that allows the composition to reach a wider contemporary audience.
Adding to the musical dimension of the project is Javed Hussain, whose composition brings together the devotional intensity of Aigiri Nandini with a rich and immersive soundscape. His musical treatment complements Manndakini’s vocals while preserving the essence of the revered verses.
Speaking about the project, Manndakini Bora says_”Aigiri Nandini is a composition that carries immense power, devotion and emotion. Not many artistes choose to take on something so rooted and spiritually significant because it comes with a great sense of responsibility. For me, this was an opportunity to reconnect with our culture and present something timeless to today’s generation. I hope listeners feel the strength and divinity of Maa Durga through our rendition”_
